Beneath it, fillings are arranged in three distinct stages: a surface layer of bonded British fleece wool and cotton for immediate resilience and breathability; a pure British fleece wool layer adding loft and passive temperature regulation; and a blended British fleece wool and cotton stratum closer to the spring unit to distribute load evenly before reaching the coils.
The spring system comprises a single row of hand-nested calico pocket springs, each forged from Vanadium steel. In a King size, 2,058 springs respond independently to weight and movement, absorbing pressure without transferring it across the bed. The border is upholstered with protective wool and reinforced with two rows of hand side-stitching to lock the perimeter springs into position, maintaining a consistent sleep surface to the very edge. Hand-tufting with felt washers anchors the fillings, preventing migration that could create uneven support over time.
